Established
in 1979, the Kootenay Lake Chamber of Commerce is about
friendships, networking, sharing ideas, and problem solving,
both for our businesses and our communities. For example,
we currently work on behalf of all East Shore residents
on items such as: highway improvements and safety; ferry
schedules; policing; community job fairs; and spring road
clean-up. In addition, the Chamber supports Canada Day celebrations
and Christmas light displays.
Membership gives you a strong voice in presenting your concerns to political or governmental organizations. Joining the Kootenay Lake Chamber of Commerce also gives you membership in the BC Chamber of Commerce. At both the local and provincial levels, the Chamber cares about the health of our communities, about the air, water, resources and quality of life for our families and our future. We believe that, in addition to basic economic aspects, environmental and social considerations should be integrated into economic decision-making. Long-term, sustainable development strategies will benefit all of us. The challenge for both government and the business community is how we develop the concept of sustainable development into practical decisions that build a prosperous economy today, and for future generations.
In addition, your membership in the Kootenay Lake Chamber of Commerce will also give you and your business economies of scale for advertising, and presents new promotional opportunities. Through the BC Chamber, members can benefit when purchasing business services including: long distance rates; Visa and MasterCard services; fuel; and group insurance services.
The Kootenay Lake Chamber of Commerce has a very active membership and meets on the third Monday of every month, October through June. The cost is only $70.00 annually. Join us in building our community. Click here for a membership form which you can print out and send in.
Our membership currently stands at seventy-three. Here is the list of our current members.
